WWL - Round 1 Halesowen
Perry Beeches fought well with a depleted team in the first round of this year's Worcester Winter League. Special thanks go to the younger girls who swam up in the older age groups - inparticular Pia Tonks, who swam the Open Butterfly, Jessica Jones, who swam her 'least favourite stroke' - the breast stroke - and gained the team a valuable point. Only two points from third place was a creditable end to the evening. Well done to all who swam and supported the club.

Junior Christmas Gala 2011
Perry Beeches very own Christmas Gala was held on Sunday 11th
December. This was a gala for all the junior swimmers at Beeches to come together and race and have fun and win a medal. . Over 70 young swimmers took part in the gala, for many of them it was their 1st time swimming any sort of gala...and they loved it...these young swimmers will be the champions of the future. Well done to all the swimmers who took part.

Masters in Action at Sheffield
Perry Beeches Men`s Masters Team of Gez Morgan, Rob Small, Ross Emery and Dan”deejay” Pryor who on Sunday traveled to the South Yorkshire Masters Open Meet in Sheffield. The team produced some amazing performances against top opposition from around the UK, winning both The medley and freestyle relays in the 120+ age group, but if that wasn`t good enough they went on to win 18 individual medals between of which 9 were Gold.!! With the help of the new Beeches Masters Head Coach Amaro Viljoes the guys are already looking forward to more success 2012...

National League Round 3 Rugby
With 26 wins out of 50 races, Beeches were in fine form on Saturday night. Senior swimmers Ellie Crean and Dan Smith led the way, starting off with wins in the 200 I.M. Special thanks to Hannah Smith, Daniel Cox, and Max and Thomas Powell, who all stepped in to swim in the team at short notice. Also to Denis Sokolov, who swam in the 11, 13 and 15 age group relays! Well done to all swimmers on the night.

CONGRATULATIONS to Dave Marsh
who has been awarded the lifetime achievement award from the ASA - all at Beeches are very proud of Dave.

CONGRATULATIONS to Rob Small
who at the British Gas ASA Masters and Senior Age Group Championships at Sheffield has won two SILVER medals - one for the 200 IM, in a time of 2.15.30, and also in the 200 Breaststroke, in a time of 2.31.67. Rob also achieved fourth place in the 100 I.M. with a time of 62.29. Everyone at Beeches is proud of Rob's achievements.

Diddy Friendly at Stechford Sat 28th
Many thanks to all of the valiant swimmers who took part in this friendly gala at Stechford. Several PBs were made, and some valiant swims were made. Swimmers on the night were: Max Powell, Lily Spencer, Alex Sokolov, Dominique Gomez, Thomas Powell, Matthew Link, Georgia Nugent, Denis Sokolov, Ashley Fletcher, Elliot Langston, Hannah Smith, Hakeem Baker, Ben Coeulle, Lily Massey and Kynan Walker. There were 14 Personal Best times out of 26 swims. Unfortunately due to a couple of 'no-shows' we could not compete in the girls relay races and the canons - please if you say you are going to attend a gala, please can you try to get there. A coaches rant will appear shortly!

Beeches has a new Coach - Amaro

From the Head Coach -

I am very pleased to welcome Amaro Viljoes as a new member of the coaching team at  Beeches.  Amaro originates from Venezuela where he competed at international level and latterly coached their National Squad.  He is a very experienced coach with an extensive technical knowledge which will benefit all Beeches swimmers. Initially he will be responsible for the Junior Lengths with the intention of preparing them for competition. He will also be assisting me in improving the standards of our Senior Squad.  I know you welcome Amaro giving him your full support.  Amaro’s input will help to improve standards at Beeches and return us to the “glory days” we enjoyed a few years ago.

Birmingham Water Festival 16/10/11- It was an enjoyable Sunday morning at Stechford that saw 25 Beeches youngsters swim at this year's Birmingham Water Festival (organised by the Birmingham SAG).
