A spectacular win for PBSSS at
The clocks may have gone back and it’s getting dark outside , but the flame of PBSSS burns on as bright as ever .
Last night a team of our swimmers were at Stechford Baths to battle it out for the Junior Relay Trophy . It was a mixture of swimmers from the A and B teams, but with nearly a full team PBSSS did really well because all the swimmers worked well together with true team spirit .
Yet again it was a really exciting Gala . If the excitement of lots of the races being so close didn’t get to you, then there was always the excitement of whether the starters gun would go off or not, and what really counts as a false start! (Don’t worry if you don’t know, the officials didn’t seem to either !!!)
It was good to see that all the hard work that we put into training is paying off, and well done to everyone who swam especially to all the children who swam up. A special well done to nine and under swimmer Ross, you did very well in your first ever Gala and to Andrew and Emma Smith, for coming to swim straight back off your holidays .

freestyle relay However, last night everybody’s race counted no matter - where you came as the points were so close. Captains Emily Minchen and Daniel Badger must have been really proud, and they got to collect a super silver trophy at the end accompanied by hoarse cheering from the parents!
Thank you to Mrs Nelson and Mrs Lickorish for getting us all to our races at the right time. I appreciate as do all the swimmers that it must have given you a headache sending four children for every race instead of one! Also thanks to the officials Mr Cotter, Mr Hyde and Mr Smith, all of whom were very encouraging and looked very official with their clipboards! Thanks very much to Donna Jarvis for all her words of wisdom at the shallow end of the pool (and for giving me this job !!! ) And finally thanks to Jane Roberts, our Head Coach for supporting us all the way and still managing to be enthusiastic despite knowing half term is coming to an end!
